Bakemonogatari – Suruga Monkey (Vol. 3) First Press – Blu-ray

Der Monat nähert sich dem Ende und die DHL Express Boten verzweifeln vor meiner Haustür, da ich einfach mitten in der Woche mittags nicht zuhause bin (wie ungewöhnlich…). Aber glücklicherweise kann man sich das Paket auch samstags kommen lassen und deswegen halte ich nun eine weitere Bakemonogatari Blu-ray in meinen Händen.
Bakemonogatari – Hitagi Crab (Vol. 1) Blu-ray Untertitel

Da ich mir meine Bakemonogatari-Blu-rays nun auch mal gemütlich angucken wollte, musste ich mir Untertitel herbeizaubern. Also besorgte ich mir erstmal aus die engl. Untertitel von den Rips [Otakixus_Coalgirls] und machte mich vorhin mal dran, die Untertitel mit Aegisub anzupassen. Da die 2 Folgen in einer Datei auf der Blu-ray vorlagen und die Rips das Ending als einzelne Datei lieferten, musste ich die Untertitel erst mal zusammenfügen. Dann fiel mir auf, dass teilweise die Frames nicht ganz genau passten, so dass ich da noch mal etwas nachhalf. Einige Texte platzierte und skalierte ich auch noch um, damit keine jap. Text verdeckt werden, um die Lesbarkeit etwas zu erleichtern. Getestet habe ich das ganze dann auf meinem MCE-PC mit ca. 1280x720er Auflösung.
Die ursprüngliche Übersetzung stammt laut CoalGirls von qIIq (Typeset) und Koharubi (Script).
Wenn man den Fuchs verwendet und seinen Media Player Classic korrekt für Blu-ray /m2ts Dateien konfiguriert hat, kann man die 00000.m2ts – Datei einfach öffnen. Dann muss man im MPC noch die .ass-Datei öffnen, damit die Untertitel angezeigt werden.

Ich bezweifele zwar, dass es noch viele andere gibt, die die Blu-ray haben und Untertitel dafür suchen, aber vielleicht hilft es ja jemanden^^. An Vol. 2 setze ich mich auch dran und irgendwann auch noch an ef – a tale of memories.
Because of the lack of subtitles on the Bakemonogatari Blu-rays, I had to add my own. I extracted the subtitles from the rips and [Otakixus_Coalgirls] and readjusted them using AegiSub. The 2 episodes were combined on the Blu-ray so that I had to join the subs. Then I noticed that sometimes the frames and the overlayed subtitles for the signs did not match so that I tried to correct this. Furthermore, I placed and scaled some of the texts, so that the Japanese parts are no longer concealed which leads to a better readability. I tested the subs file on my MCE-PC using a ~1280×720 resolution.
CoalGirls listed qIIq (Typeset) and Koharubi (Script) as original translators.
If the “fox” is used and the Media Player Classic is correctly configured for Blu-ray/ m2ts files, the 00000.m2ts file in the Stream directory can be opened. Then you can open the .ass file as subtitle in MPC, so that the subtitles get visible.

I don’t think that there are many people with Blu-ray who need subtitles but perhaps this script helps someone^^. I will also adjust the subtitles for Vol. 2 and some time in the future scripts for the ef – tale of memories Blu-ray.
The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya – Light Novel

Mittlerweile ist j auch die 2. Light Novel von Haruhi Suzumiya in den USA erschienen und ich habe sie nach der Ankunft auch regelrecht verschlungen. Zum Verglech habe ich oben mal die 3 “Versionen” fotografiert. Oben links die Softcover-Version und oben rechts die Hardcover-Version (Inhaltlich sind beide wieder gleich). Unten gibt’s die jap. Ausgabe zu sehen.
Bakemonogatari – Mayoi Snail (Vol. 2) First Press – Blu-ray

Anime Virtual hat ja gerade den nächsten durchschnittlichen (ANN-Bewertung: 7.468) Fanservice-Anime Sekirei lizenziert, um mal etwas Budget für “bessere” Serien zu sammeln (die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt). Ich dagegen werfe den Japanern mal wieder direkt das Geld in den Rachen. Die monatliche Lieferung Bakemonogatari trudelte nämlich bei mir ein. Aus irgendwelchen Gründen liefert Amazon.co.jp nun mit DHL und nicht mehr mit Fedex, was das pünktliche Erhalten der frischen Scheibe etwas erschwert. Fedex stand immer zw. 9 Uhr und 9:45 bei mir vor der Tür, DHL erscheint wohl lieber um 12:00. Bis 9:45 kann ich gerade noch zuhause rumhängen, um nicht zu spät zur Arbeit zu kommen, aber 12:00 ist doch etwas spät. Naja, immerhin kann man sein Päckchen dann abends von der Verteilstation abholen (15 Minuten mit dem Auto) und die Zollgebühren sind etwas niedriger (aus welchen Gründen auch immer).
The 2nd Bakemonogatari Blu-ray arrived on Thursday, so it’s now time for a small post about it.
Similar to the 1st Blu-ray there are now subtitles but the episode count was increased to 3, so that the complete Mayoi Snail Arc could be put on the disc. Following the theme of this arc, Hitagi was replaced for Mayoi to fill in the roll as cover girl.
A transparent slipcase is used to house the “DVD box” and the text and logo was put on it so that the artwork was kept clear.
The Blu-ray is accompanied by a CD with the complete opening “Kaerimichi” of the arc, the karaoke version and a 40 minute long conversation between Mayoi’s Seiyū Emiri Katou and Koyomi’s Seiyū Hiroshi Kamiya.
There’s also some promotion stuff, 3 high quality artworks and a nice booklet in the box:

When taking a deeper look at the Video folder of the Blu-ray I found a ~1GB, ~10 minutes long video file that only delivers a slightly moving background and an instrumental version of the OP. It is is only used for the menu…at least they seem to try to fill the Blu-ray…

When writing the post about the 1st Blu-ray, I didn’t see the background, so here’s the one from the 1st volume:
This time the clear opening of the arc and the clear ED of the 5. episode is available as bonus material.
Furthermore, the previews of the TV broadcast are available and the in-character-commentaries also returned over the full running time of the episodes, this time Mayoi and Tsubasa are talking (if I recognize her correctly).
The episodes were enhanced in a lot of scenes. This Japanese website did a comparison. The picure quality is great and only see some small problems in gradients, but this can be related to my used codec. The sound is again PCM 2.0, typical for anime.

I must confess it’s strange that Senjougahara appears on so many stills, even if she isn’t the main character of this story…but she simply stood out more than Mayoi in my view^^.

Bevor jemand denkt, ich werfe nur Kadokawa das Geld in den Rachen, habe ich nun hier die Bildbeweise, dass ich auch bei aktuellen Animes, die nicht Haruhi heißen, mal zuschlage, nämlich nun bei Bakemonogatari. Zuvor habe ich ja schon einen kleinen Beitrag hier verfasst und die Serie begeistert mich immer noch ungemein (die letzte folge der TV-Ausstrahlung war einfach nur genial). Tja, leider bietet die japanische Blu-ray keine Untertitel, aber da ich diese tolle Serie einfach unterstützen wollte, griff ich trotzdem zu und werde nun mal bei Gelegenheit die Fansubuntertitel anpassen und mir die dann einfach mit der m2ts-Datei im Media Player Classic anschauen.
