Yessss, wir haben die Rechte an Evangelion 2 ergattert. Der Kinohit aus Japan wird von uns am 16.07.2010 veröffentlicht. Da der Japan-Release auf den 26. Mai verschoben wurde, waren leider auch wir aus vertraglichen Gründen zu verpflichtet zu schieben. Ich hoffe ihr könnt euch gedulden!

* Das Steelbook wird auf 8.000 Stück limitiert sein. Das heißt es wird nach Abverkauf auf die normale Softbox umgestellt. Das FSK Label wird nicht fest integriert sondern als Abziehsticker draufgeklebt (geht bei Metall perfekt ab, wurde bereits getestet).

** Wie viele sicher wissen handelt es sich bei der 1.11 Version um eine nochmals vom Regiesseur neu geschnitte Fassung mit ein paar Minuten mehr Material. Diese Version ist bisher nicht erschienen.

Zu Evangelion 2.0 ist noch zu sagen, dass es sich diesmal im Gegensatz zu Evangelion 1.0 nicht um eine Zusammenfassung der Serie handelt sondern um komplett neue Inhalte! Ich hatte bereits die Möglichkeit den Film zu sehen, es ist ein großartiges Erlebnis! Der Schluss ist der Hammer – man freut sich auf Teil 3 und 4, die bereits in Japan angekündigt sind.

It was also verified that the discs will be region B only.

I preordered the Japanese Blu-ray yesterday and will add the subtitles then externally so I this delay doesn’t affect me very much. I think the German releae will still be faster than many other international releases.

The new issue of Animage now also lists May 26th for a release of Evangelion 2.22 in Japan. This time also the Blu-ray is mentioned. This sounds more or less official.

Amazon.co.jp now lists volume 12 of the Neon Genesis Evangelion – manga. It will be released on April 4th. I heard the the most recent chapters don’t indicate that it will end till then, so that we probably get volume 13. I haven’t read the most recent chapters so I don’t have an own opinion on this^^;

The Japanese online retailer “Geo” on the Rakuten website listed yesterday a Evangelion 2.22 DVD for a release on May 26th. They also wrote that the 2.22 means that the movie was digitally mastered and that “re-adjustments” had been done (no surprise). The whole listing was removed later and Khara itself didn’t mentioned a release date so far. The typical German reader of this website should now that Universum Anime announced months ago that they will release 2.01 (they also mentioned new scenes) on May 7th. This would mean that Germany gets the movie sooner than Japan on home video? And Universum Anime already announced a Blu-ray and it’s highly unprobable that they will release an upscale.
